1960 Born in Liberia, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica
The fourth of 10 children, at the age of six was given by his mother to a powerful cattle lord, so- in her words-“he would be fed”
Works as a “Sabanero” (Guanacaste’s cowboy) and rodeo man
Spent his childhood and adolescence driving cattle through mountains, rivers and plains
Accused of participating in a sound case of cattle robbery, which was never clearly resolved or properly proven, he was sent to prison (16 years) where he started drawing, painting and carving
Has been chosen to paint a giant mural on a building in San Jose
One of the 140 Artists who have been chosen to represent Costa Rica in the coming Biennial of Central America taking place in Panama, 2004
