He used to visit Ivan and Josip Generalic (his cousin) everyday and watch them paint, but he never had any formal training.
He had his first group exhibition in 1971 at Zaneb Fair, this was the year that he began painting professionally.
In 1995 he had a solo exhibition at the Galerija Josip Generalic, and since then he has participated in many group exhibitions.
